PRESS RELEASE

Open information on American investors interest in investing in raw materials in Greenland

The regulations on raw minerals which exits today are meant to protect people, trades and nature, which eventually could be learned from in rich nations, because we know that the state of the globe is that the coming generations are in danger, due to that we know that the rich countries exploiting minerals destroys the soil of the developing countries, not benefiting the indigenous peoples of those countries.

Most of the politicians by now know that if they stick to the regulations, it will be of advantage. Greenland is considered to have the cleanest and surrounding countries of the world, which has to be respected by the rich people and the politicians of this world. We will not be the only ones to use the nature, our children and their children, therefore we are obliged to give it further to them in good shape.

We Greenlanders have life style where we fully respect the nature and surroundings, because we know that treating the globe rightfully the nature will also treat us well, we eat what we can hunt from the country side and the sea, we don’t overhunt or use the resources over what it can generate, we are breathing the clean air and drinking the clean water with joy.

It is of importance to say to those who wants to invest, that we as Greenlanders live with nature and live of the abundance of the nature, and from time immemorial we have lived in harmony with the nature, and developed the country in accordance with it.

We ask the wealthy that they do their investments in respect of the people and their way of living, that they behave in accordance with regulations and that they think that they want to invest in one the cleanest countries in the world, which we want to maintain and develop.

For those interested in investing in our natural resources, we want you to study the regulations closely, and besides of that, hear what the people living close to your licensed area are saying, and not only listening the companies which are occupied with extracting minerals. It could be so that former governments have given out licenses against the wish of the people, in that case the investment will be in vain.

The projects that we wish you would invest in are those deposits with no dangerous radiation, in distance from inhabited areas, in that way you will secure that you don’t harm the Greenlandic people or their livelihood.

A very good idea for investments is though sustainable projects, there is a huge need for clean water in the world and we have plenty of it, besides that there are opportunities for producing a huge amount of clean energy by hydro power and wind.

We do follow and learn from the experiences that developing countries have gained during the rich countries exploiting minerals. Greenland wants to contribute to a cleaner world, this does not mean that Greenland is to be named a developing country, which sells out everything. Greenlanders are convinced that all forms of destruction leads to harder living conditions, that we need to protect our one globe, because if we do destroy it, it means that the generations to come after us will be facing much harder conditions with regards to their livelihoods. Therefor we have an important message to all investors, be really careful if you want to invest in Greenland, read existing regulations carefully and respect the livelihood. We need the money but also at the same time we know, that money can never be eaten.

We have heard in the press that an American investor has travelled to Narsaq. He has been seen together with the people developing Kuannersuit, to our regret he and other investors did not care listening to the inhabitants of, if they did, they would have learned that the resistance towards mining Kuannersuit is based strictly on scientific findings, and that it is not an attractive project to invest in if he respected the local people.

We do have sufficient knowledge that exploiting minerals from Kuannersuit will have devastating consequences for Greenland, and if opened as a mine the environment, the people and their livelihoods will suffer from it and remove it from the surface of earth which is basically contrary to the mindset of the Greenlanders. We do not have any reasons to sell everything, Kuannersuit is not to be a mining site which the politicians and the majority of the people is determined, but we are open for discussing other sustainable projects to be invested in.

If investors respect the regulations, sustainability and the people it will be beneficial for all of us.
